The journey
This fly & drive journey combines North Iceland’s volcanic heart with the dramatic fjords of the Westfjords and the diverse landscapes of Snaefellsnes. Begin at Lake Myvatn, where lava formations, craters and geothermal wonders define the scenery, then follow the Diamond Circle to Dettifoss waterfall. Explore charming towns like Akureyri and Isafjordur before venturing deep into the Westfjords to towering waterfalls, seabird cliffs and colourful beaches. The journey concludes in Reykjavik blending raw wilderness, iconic sights and Icelandic culture.

The volcanic Lake Myvatn area is surrounded by diverse natural wonders – including fascinating rock formations at the Dimmuborgir lava park, the unusual craters at Skutustadagigar, bubbling geothermal areas, the Viti and Hverfjall craters and the Grjotagja lava cave. The Studlagil canyon between North and East Iceland features some of the most impressive basalt column formations in Iceland.
