The journey

Iceland's most iconic routes, at your own pace

This seven-day journey blends two of Iceland’s most spectacular regions: the diverse landscapes of Snaefellsnes and the remote beauty of the Westfjords. Begin in West Iceland among lava fields, waterfalls and powerful hot springs before exploring Snaefellsnes, often called “Iceland in miniature,” with its glacier volcano, dramatic coastlines and iconic Kirkjufell. Continue into the Westfjords, where red and golden beaches, towering bird cliffs and winding fjords define the landscape. Discover Dynjandi waterfall, the quaint town of Isafjordur and the quiet shores of Strandir. The adventure ends in Reykjavik and the otherworldly volcanic scenery of Reykjanes.

1West Iceland & Borgarfjordur
West Iceland & Borgarfjordur

The lava landscape of West Iceland is home to several lesser-known sights like the Grabrok crater and Glanni waterfall, just off road 1. A detour into the Borgarfjordur area will take you to the unique Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls and Deildartunguhver, Europe's most powerful hot spring. The village of Reykholt on the way is steeped in saga history with a medieval centre and the oldest hot spring in Iceland. Hikers must take the road into the Hvalfjordur fjord for the exhilarating hike along a canyon and through caves to the 198m-tall Glymur waterfall.
