The journey
A deep dive into Iceland’s most remote and dramatic region. Travel through the saga-rich valleys of Dalir, along island-studded coastlines and into the heart of the Westfjords. Discover towering bird cliffs at Latrabjarg, the red-sand beach at Raudasandur and the cascading beauty of Dynjandi waterfall. Explore Isafjordur’s maritime heritage, follow secluded fjord roads along the Isafjordur Bay and venture into the scarcely-inhabited Strandir coast. Travel back through the Borgarfjordur region before ending in vibrant Reykjavík.

What makes this journey
Day by day

The valleys of Dalir are steeped in history dating back to the Settlement of Iceland, as the main setting for many of Iceland's sagas and also where Eirikur “the Red” and his son Leifur Eiriksson lived. The unfrequented coastal route around Fellsstrond and Skardsstrond offers breathtaking views of the countless islands of Breidafjordur, with the backdrops of Snaefellsnes and the Westfjords.
