The journey
This east-to-west fly & drive adventure connects Iceland’s most scenic regions with an offbeat island twist. Begin in the tranquil Eastfjords, with winding coastal roads, deep fjords and charming villages. Continue south to the mighty glacier tonguess of Vatnajokull, exploring ice-carved landscapes, glacier lagoons and black sand beaches. Cross to the Westman Islands to walk on fresh lava, hike a young volcano and encounter one of the world’s largest puffin colonies. The journey concludes with Iceland’s classic highlights along the Golden Circle and a final day in Reykjavik, blending raw nature with culture and history.

The Eastfjords have one of the most scenic stretches of the Ring Road with towering mountains, scenic fjords, and charming fishing villages, each with a special character. Egilsstadir, the capital of the Eastfjords, is set on the banks of the Lake Lagarfljot, which is rumoured to host a lake monster! The drive around the lake takes you through the largest forest in Iceland and hikers can take a short hike up to the Hengifoss waterfall. The Studlagil canyon features some of the most impressive basalt column formations in Iceland.
