A journey into Iceland's wildest corners, from the Westfjords to the remote Arctic coast.
The journey
Travel far beyond Iceland's main tourist routes on an epic journey through its most remote regions. Begin in the historic valleys of Dalir and follow quiet coastal roads into the dramatic Westfjords, discovering colourful beaches, towering cliffs, deep fjords and the spectacular Dynjandi waterfall. Continue through remote Strandir before heading north to volcanic landscapes, powerful waterfalls and the far reaches of the Arctic Coast Way. Experience tiny fishing villages, windswept coastlines and rich birdlife before turning east through the secluded Eastfjords. With long scenic drives, little-visited landscapes and unforgettable natural highlights, this is Iceland at its wildest, most remote and authentic.

What makes this journey
Day by day

The valleys of Dalir are steeped in history dating back to the Settlement of Iceland, as the main setting for many of Iceland's sagas and also where Eirikur “the Red” and his son Leifur Eiriksson lived. The unfrequented coastal route around Fellsstrond and Skardsstrond offers breathtaking views of the countless islands of Breidafjordur, with the backdrops of Snaefellsnes and the Westfjords.
